News Source: Madanika.id, Jakarta -The Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (KKP) noted the export value of national fisheries products reached Rp1 trillion during the Idul Fitri long holiday period 2025. This figure was compiled in the span of March 24 to April 2, 2025 or one day after Lebaran.

Head of the Maritime and Fisheries Quality Control and Quality Control Agency (BPPMHKP), Ishartini, said that export activities continue in 32 provinces, despite most government activities on holiday. "Exports continue, from the western end to east of Indonesia," he said in a press release issued by the KKP, Monday, April 7, 2025.

During the holiday period, BPPMHKP, which oversees 47 technical implementing units (UPT), continues to open the service of issuing the Quality and Safety Certificate of Fisheries Products (SMKHP). This certificate is a major requirement for fishery products to be accepted in the global market that requires sanitation and food safety standards.

"The entire destination country already knows the existence of a quality HC certificate as a quality assurance," Ishartini said.

Overall, export frequencies were recorded at 2,774 times with a total volume of more than 20 thousand tons or precisely 20,225,966 kilograms.

Some provinces recorded significant export activities. North Sumatra sends more than 4.5 million kilograms of fishery products in 413 delivery times. East Java followed with 2.8 million kilograms, followed by South Sulawesi, Bali and Southwest Papua.

The main commodities that are shipped include shrimp, tuna-skipjack, squid and octopus (Cephalopoda), crabs, and seaweed. These products are sent to at least 29 countries, including the United States, Japan, China, Australia, the United Arab Emirates, to Zimbabwe.

Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries, Sakti Wahyu Trenggono, said that fisheries exports are the main focus in the strategy of strengthening the marine sector. In addition to increasing production, KKP also prioritizes aspects of product quality assurance and security to be able to compete in the global market.

"We continue to encourage diversification of export products and expand the destination country, while ensuring the quality of the product is maintained along the supply chain," Trenggono said in a separate statement.
