About Us

About IEA

The Indonesia Exporters Association is a professional organization engaged in the export sector. Export activities are one of the locomotives that drive national and regional economic growth. Export trade activities, as part of economic activity, aim to improve the welfare of society in all areas. IEA aims to develop exports, support SMEs, and strengthen the national economy through effective and efficient training and promotion.

IEA was officially established by the Minister of Trade of the Republic of Indonesia through:

- Decree of the Minister of Trade of the Republic of Indonesia No. 784/M dated February 21, 1961 regarding the formation of the Temporary Indonesia Exporters Association (GPEIS).
- Decree of the Minister of Trade of the Republic of Indonesia No. 167/SK/XI/66 dated November 29, 1966 on the transition from "Temporary Indonesia Exporters Association" to the Indonesia Exporters Association (IEA).

IEA continues to play an active role in supporting and facilitating Indonesian companies to enhance their competitiveness in the global export market, strengthen business networks, and open opportunities for international trade.

2018

Legal Acknowledgment

On April 27, 2018, IEA obtained legal acknowledgment from the Ministry of Law and Human Rights of the Republic of Indonesia through Decree No. AHU-0005777.AH.01.07 Year 2018. On October 8, 2018, IEA received final legal standing from the Supreme Court of Indonesia through Decree No. 435 PK/PDT/2018.

2009

Recognition by KADIN Indonesia

On June 11, 2009, IEA received official recognition from KADIN Indonesia through Decree No. Skep/086/DP/ALB/VI/2009.

1966

Name Change

On November 29, 1966, GPEIS was renamed to IEA (Indonesia Exporters Association) based on the Decree of the Minister of Trade No. 167/SK/XI/66, signed in Jakarta by the Minister of Trade, Mr. D. Ashari.

1961

Initial Formation

IEA was founded on February 21, 1961 under the name Temporary Indonesia Exporters Association (GPEIS) based on Decree No. 784/M issued by the Minister of Trade of the Republic of Indonesia, Mr. Arifin Harahap.
